Hi, I’m Julie.
I care deeply about the world and the people around me. Yet I have witnessed first-hand the truth of Maya Angelou’s quote…
‘There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.’
I want to get to know you and your unique story because the contents of your heart matter.
My clients love the rapport we build together. They enjoy genuine support from someone who gets them – someone who shines a light on their strengths and gently but firmly challenges them to move toward the life they really, truly want.
MY BACKGROUND
We all carry the shadows from our childhood into today.
I have been through many peaks and valleys in the course of my life, and I am sure you have too. My life has had distinct chapters that have shaped me in profound ways. I was the youngest in a large family. If you know anything about large families, you know they’re often chaotic. On top of that, my scientist dad and artist mother were opposites in every way. He was an academic and she was a spiritual seeker. Their differences probably created a magnetic attraction early on – but eventually, significant tension grew between them. In time, this tension created the necessary pressure for my own internal growth.
Suffice it to say, most of us arrived at adulthood with baggage that was never ours but has informed how we approach the various parts of our lives.
I share this because I believe it’s important to acknowledge and reconcile the different aspects of our inner world and the wild chapters of our journey to this moment.
When we can understand ourselves more deeply, it becomes easier to release what needs to go, have compassion for our hurts, and embrace the unique strengths we couldn’t have acquired any other way.
My clients describe me as practical and strategic with a touch of mysticism and creativity.
My approach:
As a leadership, transition, and relationship coach, I offer a balanced perspective that helps activate the mind and the heart.
‘HOLD IT,’ you might be saying.
‘I don’t need a leadership, transition, or relationship coach.’
I believe you DO.
In fact, I believe everyone does.
THINK ABOUT IT
Relationships are the fabric of our lives.
Healthy or not.
Fulfilling or not.
Joyful or not.
You’re always in relationship with:
I also believe we are all leaders, whether we realize it or not.
Leadership must first start with how we navigate our own lives because those habits and/or hard edges inform our capacity to lead others (and how we respond to being led by others).
In these rapidly changing times, I believe we are more in need of healing our relationships and having true leadership than ever before. I’ve been a sincere sounding board for people of all ages and backgrounds for the past 30 years through my many workshops, lectures, and thousands of one-on-one sessions.

“Julie is compassionate, trustworthy, skilled, and deeply understands the human condition.”

My Coaching Style:
“Be river-like in your generosity, sun-like in your affection, and earth-like in your hospitality.” — Chisti
I have always enjoyed creating safe and inviting spaces for others to flourish.
As a child, I hosted slumber parties and dance events in the living room.
As an adult, I invite others to gather one-on-one or as a community.
It makes sense that as my skills developed, I naturally gravitated toward enhancing the well-being of others in the environment of world-class hospitality resorts. In our busy and changing world, it is not always easy to manage to visit these places, and if we do, it is infrequent.
True hospitality brings healing!
It is part of my mission to bring this energy to those who appreciate it, as well as to those who might not even be aware they need it. I approach each session with a generous, hospitable heart, committed to creating a safe space to explore what is most true and relevant for you.
I started my career at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts. Eventually, I became the Director of Spiritual Wellness at Canyon Ranch Wellness Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona, and the Inspiration and Wellness Specialist at Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, Texas.
My coaching style is grounded in a holistic, integrative approach to wellness.
Together, we’ll address and assess the connection between the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellbeing.
If you are looking for conventionality and a one-size-fits-all coaching framework, I am not the right practitioner for you. My life path has been an unconventional and uncommon one, and I believe with an inspired integrative model, there are healing solutions to every problem.
It has been an honor to hear and witness the deep appreciation and relief that happens for my clients when they start to receive the benefits of our work together.
I combine my training in:
certified professional coaching
master's in spiritual counseling
conflict resolution/mediation
abundant years of education and creativity
to serve each client in best supporting their unique needs.
If you want a compassionate coach with experience and advanced training who doesn’t shy away from conversations that will help you get clear and create more meaning and purpose in your life, then I invite you to get in touch.
I would love to meet you!
Other things you may enjoy learning about me:
I love wild places of natural beauty.
I also love walking and hiking. I sometimes can frustrate people when I go with company, though, because I often stop to photograph the clouds, sunsets, mountains, water, and flora and fauna.
I love seeing wildlife, and a mountain lion, coyote, bear, fox, or roadrunner will make my day. I am still waiting to see a moose!
I take after my dad, who loved his work and never retired almost until the day he died.
I am mission-driven, and my work never feels like work to me. I naturally start with a big-picture vision, and then I bring it down to earth by breaking it down into manageable steps.
I once won 1st place in a lip sync contest in Austin, TX with a fellow colleague singing the song Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from A Star is Born. It was my claim to fame. Confession: I like being on stage.
I am a highly sensitive person, an empath, and an extrovert. This combination requires some conscious navigation. I am a people person and get energized by people, yet because I am sensitive, I also need some alone time.
I am a Lyme disease survivor. I had chronic advanced Lyme disease and co-infections of Lyme for 20 years (something I would not wish upon my worst enemy.) I have since healed completely due to excellent medical care and being completely disciplined with my diet and supplements. I have been Lyme-free for some time now. I lived with chronic pain for decades. I am grateful beyond belief to be able to walk up mountains now.
I am incredibly persevering and do not give up easily.
I am incredibly loyal; if I love you, I love you for life.
I have a feisty side. I consider this to be a strength most of the time.
I believe conflict is a necessary part of life, and we need to seek ways of finding common ground.
I recently have devoted myself to learning to become a whole food plant-based chef.
I value diversity and standing up for human rights.
I am told I am good in a crisis. I rise to the occasion.
I can get frustrated easily, and I am a REFORMED door slammer.
Exercise is essential for me to move my energy!
I love beauty and interior design.
My spiritual life is important to me. I have been studying Sufism for more than 20 years. I was given the name Jamila by my spiritual teacher (pronounced JaMEELah), it means ‘the beauty.’ One of my gifts is the ability to create a safe and beautiful space for healing and transformation. I have consciously been on a spiritual journey since I was 19 years old.
How coaching with me works:
1
Set up a complimentary 30-minute discovery call. We’ll meet and see if we are a fit. If we determine we want to work together, I will recommend what package or session will work best, as well as the frequency of sessions for your unique needs and situation.
2
Our first session is spent mapping out where you are and what direction you want to move in. We start with an honest self-assessment.
3
We build on the first session by diving deeper as we continue to work together. We prioritize awareness, alignment, and action in all our sessions so we can track our progress.
Why Inspired World Wellness
Inspired World Wellness was created to provide support, education, and healing for individuals and groups who want to live as their optimal selves and give something of beauty and value back to this world.
I use an individualized, heart-centered process when working with clients because we are all unique.
I believe our most valuable wisdom comes from the experience we go through in life. I like to remind myself and others that the word inspiration comes from the Latin verb inspirare, which means to ‘breathe into.’ I believe everything we go through in life, whether challenging or enjoyable, gives us an opportunity to breathe into it.
As a trained mediator, I am passionate about peacemaking and conflict resolution. I believe devoting time for compassionate communication and committing to building and sustaining healthy relationships is integrally connected with living a vital and fulfilling life. I believe this is also what the world most needs at this moment in human history.
